About this Course

As the sun sets, you put on your dive gear, slip on your mask, and bite down on your regulator. After taking a deep breath, you step off the jetty or boat – into the black water awaiting you. Although you’ve dove this spot many times in daylight, this time you drop into a new world and watch it come to life under the glow of your dive light. If you've wondered what happens underwater after the sun goes down, sign up for the PADI Night Diver Specialty course. In this "haunted" specialty, enjoy learning about diving at night while having a HAUNTING good time. Diving costumes encouraged!

Included in the cost is your night diver manual, a knowledge development session on site, and 3 training dives. Dive gear is not included. Along with your basic scuba equipment, you'll need a primary dive light and want to have a backup light, too. Bring a diving costume for good time!

What You'll Learn

Scuba diving at night teaches you to pay attention to details you may overlook during the day. You'll learn:

• Light handling and communication techniques.
• Entering, exiting and navigating in the dark.
• Identifying how plants and animals differ or change behavior at night

Prerequisites

To enroll in this specialty course, you must be:

• Certified as an Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver
• 12 years of age or older
