Self Reliant Diver

This course is intended for experienced divers who wish to develop their skills generally, perhaps in preparation for further advanced training. As such, the prerequisites are strict to ensure your safety as a diver.

What You Learn
- Value and application of the buddy system
- Philosophy of, and motivation for, diving without a partner
- Potential risks of diving alone and how to manage such risks
- Value of equipment redundancy and what backup equipment is needed
- Dive planning and gas management when diving alone
The Scuba Gear You Use
You use all your basic scuba gear including a dive computer and accessories. You will also need a redundant air source (Pony bottle with regulator), an SMB with at least 100' of line, redundant computer, signal marker (both visual and audible), a knife, and a slate.
Prerequisites
To enroll in the Seft Reliant Diver course, you must:
- Have an Advanced Open Water certification
- Have a minimum of 100 logged dives
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Successfuly complete a SCUBA Skills Assesment by one of our Diving Staff
